We offer the following activities to support your overall good health and wellbeing:

Lifestyle MOT – This takes place quarterly in the atrium and is an opportunity for you to have a short lifestyle MOT consultation, or have your blood pressure checked. Details of when a session is taking place is published on B:Hive.

Drink Less – Check your units confidentially here. You can also track the days you drink alcohol and the days you don’t by downloading the ‘Drink Free Days’ App from the App Store or Google Play Store on your mobile.

Stop Smoking Programme – Self-referral through the Smokefree Bexley website. Free six-week support programme and access to treatment. Daytime and evening appointments available. Website:
Occupational Health Service – We have an in-house Occupational Health Service. Our Occupational Health Doctor and specialist nurse provide a comprehensive service to support managers and staff. Further information can be found on B:Hive.

Mental Health Wellbeing Workshop – this workshop will help you find simple ways of improving your mental health to help you cope with the stresses of everyday life. Staff can find further details on B:Hive.

Resilience and Positivity Workshop – This workshop will give you an opportunity to find out what research says about resilience and positivity and to give you some useful, positive and uplifting advice and simple strategies to help you to live a happier, healthier and more positive life. Employee Assistance Programme

Our Employee Assistance programme provides a counselling support service for any personal, work or family issues 24 hours a day/7 days a week/365 day a year! All calls are answered in the UK.

The service also offers up to six short term structured Face to Face or Structured Telephone Counselling sessions where your issues can be dealt with effectively and will be subject to a clinical assessment of the presenting issues.

You can access a series of topical webinars from the EAP website at anytime, there is no need to pre-register as all webinars can be accessed at a time convenient to you.

Social Side to Life at Bexley

Randomised Coffee Trial (RCT) –  We use RCTs to connect people across the organisation and give them time to meet to have a coffee to form networks and hear about what’s happening across the Council

We have a Monthly lunchtime reading group and weekly lunchtime walks.

Staff Social Christmas activities take place each year including Christmas Carol Singing with a quiz and Christmas Movie Night.

The Bexley Games is an annual event which consists of a week of activities, sport and team building opportunities for everyone who works for the Council to get involved with.

Private Health Care

Benenden Health is a mutual, not-for-profit provider of discretionary healthcare. As a mutual friendly society they offer an alternative to private medical insurance. Further details are available at:
